AIN Exclusion Zones map

Post by Charlie »

For reference for new members, this is a map of all the exclusion zones around AIN member states, and will be updated alongside the union map when need be.

Countries and areas in Orange are regions that new nations cannot be placed in. The only exceptions are if new members talk to the affected nation's owner and try to cooperate over the histories.

Regarding our Southern Ocean discussion, I think a nation south of Australia would be fine provided it's size + population remains small.

Yeah I agree, as long as it'd also be a commonwealth nation too then I see no problem. A nation based on the series of Tasman Plateau Rises could work well.

This should be pinned to the Membership Office IMO. Would make it easier for new applicants to see/read.

Updated the exclusion zone map to represent country changes and eddited some exclusion zones, these include:

- Preserving the interior of Canada (Toronto/Ottawa) although I wont be opposed to an independent Quebec or the Atlantic Provinces.
- Added in exclusion zone for Amuria
- Added in an exclusion zone east of Tasmania, to represent the possible nation on the South Tasman Rise/East Tasman Plateau
- Black Sea exclusion zone to preserve Hiigara's history
- Exclusion zone added in between the Friegas
- Decreased exclusion zone over the Coral Sea

If anyone has any issues or questions, please feel free to ask away! :P

Some changes have been made to the Exclusion zone due to the latest union map update.

Image

- Zambezi's exclusion zone includes southern Tanzania and Malawi.
- Fixed Santa Catarina due to recent bill
- Shrunk the size of France's exclusion zone to be just that of the north-eastern and eastern regions, for obvious reasons.

Anything else that needs to be brought up?

Updated the map to not only match the new design, but also include new members, and their surrounding waters and nations (Spain in the case of Arriola)

Why is spain excluded, realistic modern countries could easily be created there?

I excluded Spain automatically due to the quantity of land taken over by Arriola. This is an established precedent, (CH and Austria blocked by Mikenstein; USA by LC and Carolina; the Netherlands by Freiga)

If there is consensus and debate on this, I'm sure it can be changed. :)

Precedent or not, it hasn’t been agreed that Spain be included as an exclusion zone.

Mike, the AIN isn't precedent based, its based in legislation, technically this would have to go through a bill however discussion and informal agreement work too. I just feel that Spain certainly could be fragmented further and on that topic I could also see somebody working well with the Netherlands perhaps in Limburg or a greater Luxembourg for example.
