Update to the Alliance Map

I am pleased to announce that the Alliance Map has been updated with great guidance from Michael! Please click on this link for the updated Map. As a summary, 6 new countries were added while 2 were removed, as well as the addition of new features, fixes and quality of life changes.

Changes

Here is the list of changes to the Union Map:

• Added more islands.
• Made gridlines less intrusive by adding transparency.

In addition, the following non-crucial edits will be performed the next time the Map is updated.

• The line spacing for one of the legends will be fixed.
• Latitudes and longitudes will be included.
• Meridiana's overseas territory of Esbornia will be included.
• Correcting the following error: the Magdalen Islands belongs to Acadia, not the United States.
• Correcting the following error: Wayala Islands is further North, as mentioned here.

You guys have been waiting for this for a long time since October last year: the Alliance Map is now updated! Please click on this link for the updated Map. In summary, 5 new Member States were added while 4 were removed, as well as the addition of new features, fixes and quality of life changes.

Changes

Here is the list of changes to the Union Map:

• Added 5 new Member States.
  • Atlantia
  • Edenland
  • Eretzora
  • Kenji
  • Marrascania
• Removed 4 Member States.
  • Akisuzushima
  • Cape
  • Wilfran and Rapha
  • Xoxileland
• Updated territorial profiles for 8 Member States and 1 disputed territory for various reasons.
  • Acadia/United States: corrected error, in which Acadia's Magdalen Islands were incorrectly tagged to the United States
  • Arriola: added Loiza and Velez de la Gomera
  • Balisca: redrew border
  • Daito Islands: added missing islands
  • Jarraban: corrected incorrect position of the Wayala Islands
  • Meridiana: added Esbornia
  • Poemia: redrew border
  • Sansheng: redrew border
• Pacific-Atlantic centric maps have been added.
• For Member States unable to display the full name due to legibility considerations, Simlympic or ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 codes are now used instead of numbers that was used previously.
• Latitudes and longitudes are added.
• The legend had been redesigned to improve legibility.

In addition, the following non-crucial edits will be performed the next time the Map is updated.

• To correct the error of the inclusion of Uruguay in Meridiana.

• Added 4 new Member States.
  • Cuyo
  • Masyan
  • The Soviet Union
  • The West Pacific
• Removed 3 Member States.
  • Amuria
  • Ca'onja
  • Deimenovinas
• Updated territorial profiles for 5 Member States with the respective reasons.
  • Aquilona: updated country's profile as specified in the approved bill.
  • Lower Columbia/United States: transferred the province of Alberta from Lower Columbia to the United States as specified in the approved bill.
  • Meridiana: corrected error, in which Uruguay was incorrectly labelled as part of Meridiana.
  • New Duveland: updated country's profile as requested by the owner.
  • Takamaiku: updated country's profile as specified in the approved bill.
• The following Member States have been recategorised from Primary Nations to Secondary Nations: Acadia and California.
• Kingston & Boyce has been renamed to Esquimalt, as specified here.

In addition, the following non-crucial edits will be performed the next time the Map is updated.

• To restore the Great Lakes in North America.
• Following discussions on clarifications, to designate the entirety of French Polynesia as Aranese Polynesia.
• To correct incorrect spelling of Marrascania.

In summary, 4 new Member States were added while 7 were removed, as well as the addition of new features, fixes and quality of life changes.

Changes

Here is the list of changes to the Alliance Map:

• Added 4 new Member States.
  • Iberia
  • La Plata
  • Mexico
  • Philippines
  • Note: Both the Baltics and Eldland were unfortunately not added despite being new Member States as they had left AIN in between map updates, as noted here and here.
• Removed 7 Member States.
  • Arriola
  • Bavaria
  • Cuyo
  • Edenland, Eretzora and Meridiana
  • Samra
• Updated territorial profiles for the following Member States with the respective reasons.
  • Balisca: updated country profile as specified in the approved bill.
  • Oka: updated country profile, with the inclusion of some parts of Taiwan, as specified in the approved bill.
  • Siculia: in tandem with the updating of Balisca's country profile, the country profile of Siculia has also been updated.
  • Sint Cunera: with the inclusion of the inset map, Sint Cunera's country profile has been updated.
  • In tandem with the cleaning up of the AIN Map, the following Member States had minor updates to its territorial profile: Acadia, Calare, California, Cattala, Freiga, Iberia (Corca and Bayara), Lower Columbia, Marquette, Sansheng, Sonora, the Soviet Union, and the United States.
• An inset map centred on the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean has been added to improve its readability.
• On territorial claims in the Antarctica, the Meridian Antarctic Territory (60W-69W) has been removed, while La Plata's Argentine Antarctica Territory (25W-90W) has been added.
• There are four additions to the disputed territories category.
• The ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 codes for two Member States has been updated.
• Takamaiku has been reclassified from a Primary Nation to a Secondary Nation.
• The incorrect spelling of Marrascania has been corrected.
• Last but not least, the Great Lakes have returned! Rejoice!
