My Resignation

Post by stanislav »

Dear members of the Alliance of Independent Nations,

I have been involved in the SC4 union community since my first time joining AIN in 2011, and that time has certainly been a rollercoaster. Even though I left soon after my first time joining, AIN has always maintained a presence in my life, culminating after my second time joining in 2017. Many older members have known me for a while and I thank them for allowing me back despite my earlier reputation. Some newer members have certainly gotten a taste of it, I'm ashamed to admit. Nevertheless, AIN was a community for me that I had a love-hate relationship with, but I stuck around.

I look back now and ultimately my experience was positive. Sure, things haven't always been peaceful, but I learned a lot from the experiences and I think I have genuinely mellowed out and gotten better. I appreciate those who told me the harsh truths. You know who you are. Perhaps I'm being a little crass, but I with to be honest when I tell you what AIN meant to me.

I've been the President, Vice President, and Speaker through my second membership, I've given time and effort to this community, although the time and effort I was able to dedicate diminished over time. I always wanted to help reform AIN into a more resilient and active community, and I had some success in some areas and less in others. Overall, while I didn't achieve everything I planned to achieve, it was a fun experience. I thank you all for helping make this experience fun for me.

Now, my life has gotten to the point where I am no longer motivated to work on the Soviet Union and California and I don't really know what I want to do next in AIN. This is something I have been thinking about for a long time, and is not related to any specific incident or individual. I have simply realized it is time for me to move on. With AIN in good hands with the conclusion of our elections, I believe now is the time for me to announce that I resign from my membership in the Alliance of Independent Nations effective immediately.

Once again, I want to thank everyone for helping make AIN a formative experience in my life and, deep down, I will always look at my time here fondly. I will still be around, in case anyone still wants to reach out.
